Quarren

The Quarren hail from the distant Outer Rim Planet of Mon Calamari (or Mon Cala), sharing the world with another sentient species of the same name. Having lived under the patriarchal rule of the Mon Calamari Species since before the planet joined the Intergalactic community, Quarren have a natural distrust of galactic politics. Indeed, they are practical and conservative, often tending to hate change and distrust anyone that displays overt optimism and idealism. Their leathery skin and heads that resemble four-tentacled squids rarely earn them sympathy from other species and they have learned to stand for themselves. Recent disputes on Mon Cala threaten to once again draw the planet into a civil war not seen in centuries.

Basic and Quarrenese (Anyone that speaks Quarrenese can understand Mon Calamarian and vice versa. These languages have the same roots but unlike the Mon Calamari, Quarren physiology prevents them from articulating in the same way and while they understand other languages, they cannot often speak them.
