Free Systems Alliance

The Alliance of Free Systems is a small faction of independent worlds that have banded together through trade and treaty to better maintain their independence from outside influence. During the first Galactic Force War, Onderon was conquered by a Sith Lord known as Freedon Nadd. The planet’s Queen, Talia vol Kira, sought aid from both the Federation and the Republic and found both factions unwilling to spare resources to defend an independent world while their own planets burned. While both factions would eventually lend ships to the planet’s restoration, their aid is largely attributed more to a desire to cripple Sith Forces than to aid Onderon.

Ultimately, this led Talia vol Kira to approach independent worlds in the year 350 R.C. to form a mutual defense alliance. Member worlds do not interfere with the governance of their allies and citizens of any world in the alliance share certain privileges in travel and trade with said allies.

In recent years, the Alliance has become a force to be reckoned with in the Outer Rim, but it remains dwarfed by other factions.
